The Connection Between Oral Health and Overall Health

Blog - Your Mouth and Your Health

What are the 3 Fph’s?

Let me explain: The 3 Fph’s are my way of taking a learning journey into healing and intertwining a topic by exploring Fiction, Fact and Philosophy.

In Episode 3 of Your Body Your Breasts, I am joined by Dr. Reid Winick of Dentistry For Health NY. We discuss the mouth as a gateway to overall health, including your breasts.

Here are the 3 Fph’s from this episode.
Fiction: Flossing heals gum disease.

Fact: Irrigation clears infection and flushes the gums more efficiently than flossing.

Philosophy: Our body is an ecosystem, and we have roots, just as the trees have roots. Our “roots” are our intestines, so they need to be healthy and strong to function well. The “soil” for our roots (intestines) is our world of microbes and nutrients, which is why it’s so important that we have a healthy microbiome.
