Most of us wear our bras all day! At work, at home, when we go out…
Bras have become a fundamental part of a woman’s wardrobe. They are great when you need a lift or some support but what if I told you that bra you love could be increasing your risk of breast cancer?!
Studies have shown that wearing a bra raises the temperature of the breasts, restricts oxygen and nutrient flow to the tissues, and restricts the flow of toxin-removing lymphatic fluid.
Sydney Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer, husband and wife authors of Dressed to Kill (1995) interviewed 4,730 women in 5 major cities about their use of bras and breast health. Their discoveries were amazing!
-Women who wore their bras for 24 hours per day had 3 out of 4 chance of developing breast cancer in their lifetime.
-Women who wore bras more than 12 hours per day, but not to bed, had 1 in 7 risk of developing breast cancer.
-Women who wore their bras less than 12 hours per day had a 1 out of 152 risk of developing breast cancer
Show yourself some self-love and take off your bra when you get home! Hey- you never know this could spice things up ; )
But more importantly you are saving your life.
