The truth is — everybody poops!  You are not alone, and there is nothing to be embarrassed about when discussing your stool with a practitioner.  Practitioners are not only accustomed to discussing bowel movements with their patients, they encourage it, as bowel movements are a normal bodily function and a vital part of everyone’s health.  So please — feel at ease telling your practitioner about your bowel movements!

Moreover, it is so important to be specific about your bowel movements!  When a practitioner asks a patient, “How are your bowel movements?”, many people simply respond, “They’re fine.”  This response is not helpful to a practitioner because it is too vague!  We strongly encourage you to use our previous blog post, “What To Notice About Bowel Movements”, to write down everything important about your bowel movements.  That way, the next time you go to your practitioner, you can give him or her a detailed and useful answer that could truly change your health for the better!
