Theanine is an amino acid that has calming and relaxing effects. Theanine blocks the binding of l-glutamic acid to glutamate receptors in the brain. Research shows that people who take daily Theanine supplements tend to have more alpha-brain wave activity in the brain which is sign of enhanced relaxation
